The office environment does not help in getting a healthy life style as you are most of the time sitting down or attending meetings with biscuits, crisps and fizzy drinks. Yet, you should not give up on being healthy and follow these 7 tips while you are at office.

 

1- Use the stairs instead of the lift. If you spend 10 minutes walking up and down stairs daily you can lose about 10 pounds per year. And if you are full of energy take double steps as this will make your heart pumps more and your muscle works harder.

 

2- Taking regular short walks through the day will help in losing weight and also will make you unstressed and clear your head and thoughts. So walking for 5 minutes should be part of your daily plan. you can talk about some work issues with your colleague while walking.

 

3- Instead of e-mailing people who are on the same floor or building, you can go talk To them face to face and this will also save time and avoid the frustrating games of email tennis as you will get what you want quickly and this will make people respond to you in a better way as you are taking time to go and see them instead of sending e-mail.

 

4- Even while you are sitting at your desk be active by spinning 60 times on your chair this will burn 50 calories. Also use your wireless headset when talking on the phone and move around the office this can help you lose pounds.

 

5- Snacks in office in a very bad hobbit and it’s too easy to get these unhealthy snacks from the staff canteen or the vending machine, thus, you should fill your desk drawers with healthy snacks like fruits, nuts and raw vegetables like carrot sticks.

 

6- Instead of getting your dinner from the nearest grassy spoon, you can get your lunch at work and by doing this you will provide your body with the healthy foods it needs to work properly and to save money. And to push yourself forward to do this you can put the money you have saved in a jar and spend it on a weekend away or a nice meal.

 

7- Drinking iced water while sitting on your desk will help you burn about 100 calories daily as it boost your metabolism. To make this drink more interesting you can add lemon on few raspberries.

 

This is not easy, however, planning ahead and taking a little bit of time out for yourself daily will improve productivity as you feel better and therefore perform better.
